The Promoter
This project has been conceptualized and designed by the promoter, Mr Gurmit Singh, a graduate mechanical engineering, specializing in thermo-fluids from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
He specializes in ammonia refrigeration with over 27 years of experience in design, installation and commissioning of projects specific to the food storage, preservation and processing. He has been instrumental in introducing new technologies in ammonia refrigeration systems to the Indian Dairy and Food Processing Industry, and pioneered the successful completion of specialized ammonia refrigeration systems for various projects during his tenure as Director Engineering and Joint Managing Director of Frick India Ltd from 1987 to 2008.
Mr Gurmit Singh is also one of the resource persons in the Human Resource Development Programs being undertaken by the National Center for Cold Chain Development (NCCD) and National Horticulture Board (NHB) who are conducting Certified Courses for Graduate Engineers and Cold Store Operators throughout the Country. He is also a member of FICCI Task Force on Storage and Logistics. He was part of the twelve member Indian delegation invited by the U.S Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in April 2011, to participate in the India Cold Chain Reverse Trade Mission (RTM) designed to showcase latest cold chain equipment, facilities and logistics that could be beneficial to India’s growing cold chain infrastructure and to meet with US companies that provide equipment and services for modern cold chain systems. In the recent past he also represented the Cold Chain Technical Standards Committee of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), contributing towards establishing Technical Standards and Protocols for the Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture and Government of India.
